Our Cooperatives

In 2018 we at Arkhbil helped a group of local women establish a Sewing and Design Cooperative. This Cooperative has given them the opportunity to earn income, apply the skills they learned during their sewing class, and stimulate the local economy. However, this motivated group of women wanted more. In 2021 they added weaving to their Cooperative and since then have been selling their rugs overseas. 

Not only did our team at Arkhbil help establish a Sewing and Weaving Cooperative, but we also helped a new set of local women establish a Baking Cooperative in 2020. They specialize in everything from traditional to modern cooking. They bake traditional Moroccan breads and cookies, as well as prepare meals for big community events.
